Once the suspect Nippondenso/Denso OSGR starter is off the vehicle, simply remove the solenoid cover, inspect the contacts and plunger for wear. If wear is evident, remove the contacts and plunger, match them to the new parts in the kit(s), then reassemble, bench test, and reinstall the starter.
